Key Points for the Construction and Standardization of GMP Cleanrooms for Cosmetics

Cosmetic GMP cleanrooms are the core foundation for ensuring the safety of cosmetic production, preventing microbial contamination, and complying with industry regulations and standards. The entire process, from raw material preparation to finished product filling, must be completed in a clean and controlled environment.

Cosmetic GMP cleanrooms use Class 10,000 and Class 100,000 as core standards for cleanliness, and are planned and constructed following the principles of "dust-free, sterile, no cross-contamination, easy cleaning, and easy disinfection." The workshop must strictly delineate clean and non-clean areas, scientifically design dual channels for personnel and materials, and set up transition areas such as first and second changing rooms and buffer zones. Personnel and materials must undergo cleaning, disinfection, and air shower dust removal before entering the clean area to prevent the introduction of external contaminants.

The workshop's decoration materials are subject to strict quality control. Antibacterial clean steel panels are used for walls and ceilings, with rounded corners to eliminate dust accumulation dead spots. Seamless epoxy self-leveling flooring or sterile PVC roll material is used for the floor, which is washable and corrosion-resistant. Doors and windows are sealed cleanroom types, with gaps filled with special sealant to achieve a seamless overall connection. The ventilation and purification system continuously delivers clean fresh air, ensuring stable pressure differential, temperature, and humidity in the workshop. It efficiently filters dust and microorganisms from the air, achieving the required air exchange rate and cleanliness standards.

The production area is divided into zones according to the process flow, with raw material, emulsification, filling, and packaging areas clearly defined to prevent cross-contamination between different processes. Materials that easily generate dust or shed are prohibited in the workshop. Water supply and drainage pipes are sealed, and floor drains in clean areas are equipped with odor-proof and backflow-proof devices.

A compliant GMP cleanroom for cosmetics is the first line of defense for product quality. It not only meets the requirements for cosmetic production license approval but also controls product hygiene and safety from the source, ensuring the stability of cosmetic quality and safe use.
