For the renovation project of the stem cell center laboratory, specific requirements for stem cell experiments shall be fully clarified first, including experiment types, required equipment, and cleanliness classification. Functional zones of the laboratory shall be divided scientifically in accordance with the experimental demands, such as cell culture area, aseptic operation area, sample processing area and storage area.
The laboratory site shall be selected with no pollution sources in the surrounding area, convenient transportation and stable water and power supply. The laboratory layout shall be reasonably designed to ensure smooth personnel and material flow between all functional areas and avoid cross contamination.
Anti-slip, wear-resistant and easy-to-clean materials such as epoxy flooring or PVC clean flooring are adopted for the ground. The floor surface is constructed to be flat and seamless to facilitate daily cleaning and disinfection. Walls and ceilings are furnished with waterproof, antibacterial and easy-to-clean color steel plates. Arc transitions are applied at the junctions of walls and floors as well as walls and ceilings to reduce dust accumulation and cleaning dead corners. The ceiling materials feature moisture resistance, dustproof performance, easy maintenance and excellent sound insulation performance.
Air-tight doors and double-layer hollow glass windows with good air tightness and easy cleaning performance are adopted for doors and windows. All doors and windows can be tightly closed to prevent external pollutants from entering the laboratory. An independent ventilation system equipped with exhaust hoods and fume hoods is installed to timely discharge polluted gas generated during experimental operations.
The electrical system is constructed in full compliance with safety specifications, equipped with an independent grounding system and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) to cope with sudden power outages and guarantee continuous and stable laboratory operation.
