Cleanroom door selection and maintenance checklist

I. Core Selection Considerations

(I) Basic Requirements

* The material must be dust-free, easy to clean, and non-porous to prevent microbial growth or contaminant release.

* Sealing performance must meet standards; door frames and gaps must be equipped with high-quality sealing strips to ensure stable pressure differential.

* Match the cleanliness level; for Class 100/Class 1000 cleanrooms, prioritize doors with good sealing and fast opening/closing.

* Comply with industry compliance standards; for example, the pharmaceutical industry requires GMP certification, and the food industry requires food contact safety standards.

(II) Door Type and Opening/Closing Method Selection

* Areas with frequent personnel access: Select automatic sensor doors or high-speed roller shutters to reduce opening time and air exchange.

* Material transport channels: Select extra-large sliding doors or folding doors suitable for trolleys and freight elevators to ensure efficient passage.

* High cleanliness level areas: Avoid manual doors; prioritize sensor or electric opening/closing to reduce human contact contamination

(III) Material selection for various industries

IndustryRecommended MaterialsKey Selection Points
Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology304/316 stainless steel, PP sheetResistant to disinfectant corrosion, with no dead corners, and meets GMP requirements.
Electronics/SemiconductorsAntistatic stainless steel and PVC composite panelsAntistatic, low volatility, no pollutant release
Food processingFood-grade 304 stainless steel, PVCWaterproof, moisture-proof, high-temperature resistant, easy to clean, and residue-free.
Chemical industryPVDF and fiberglassResistant to acid and alkali corrosion, structurally stable, and does not react with the medium.

(IV) Additional Function Selection

Antistatic: Essential for the electronics industry, must meet industry antistatic standards.

Fireproof and Flame Retardant: Select doors with fire-resistant ratings according to building fire protection requirements.

Observation Window: Use double-layer tempered glass, well-sealed, no condensation, easy to observe the indoor situation.

Anti-collision Design: Material access doors must be equipped with anti-collision strips to prevent damage to the door body during transportation.

II. Daily Maintenance Points

(I) Daily Maintenance

Clean the door surface and observation window with a lint-free cloth dampened with neutral detergent, avoiding scratches.

Inspect the sealing strips to ensure they are not deformed or detached, and promptly clean dust and debris from the gaps.

Test the opening and closing function. For sensor doors, check the sensor sensitivity to ensure smooth opening and closing without jamming.

(II) Weekly Maintenance

Tighten the door connecting screws to prevent loosening due to frequent opening and closing, which could affect sealing performance.

Clean the door track and rollers, remove accumulated dust, and apply special lubricant to ensure smooth opening and closing.

Inspect door locks, hinges, and other accessories to ensure they function properly and are not jammed or damaged.

(III) Monthly Maintenance

Conduct a comprehensive inspection of the sealing performance. Use a differential pressure gauge to test the pressure difference stability after the door is closed. Replace the sealing strips promptly if the seal is poor.

Test additional functions such as anti-static and fireproofing to ensure they meet industry requirements.

Inspect the door structure for deformation, corrosion, dust generation, etc., and address any abnormalities promptly.

(IV) Annual Maintenance

Completely disassemble and clean the door, replacing worn-out pulleys, rubber strips, sensors, and other easily damaged parts.

Calibrate parameters such as opening and closing speed and sensing range to ensure they match the operational requirements of the cleanroom.

Invite professionals to conduct inspections, issue a maintenance report, and maintain compliance records.

III. Common Problem Handling

* Door not sealing properly: Check if the rubber strips are aging, adjust the door frame position, and replace damaged seals.

* Opening and closing jamming: Clean debris from the door track, apply lubricant, and check for malfunctions in the motor or transmission mechanism.

* Material corrosion: Confirm the cause of corrosion; if it is due to media erosion, replace the door with a suitable corrosion-resistant material.

* Sensor malfunction: Check the sensor power supply and wiring, clean the sensing area, and replace the sensor if necessary.
