When the indoor temperature is lower than the set temperature, the air conditioner automatically raises the temperature; the airflow of the fan in this state is called "variable capacity." All switches operate in this manner until the temperature requirement is met. The VAV airflow control system uses sensors to detect the indoor temperature and controls the fan airflow through the controller to achieve energy savings.
